On behalf of Administration and negotiating parties for Lakehead University, we are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached with members of CUPE 3905 at a meeting held today, April 2. Lakehead University had been in talks with the bargaining unit of CUPE 3905, which represents Lakehead University’s Teaching and Graduate Assistants, since February 2006. After numerous negotiation sessions and mediated talks the parties arrived at a tentative agreement today. The tentative agreement will be put forward for ratification by the parties later in the week. Lakehead University values its Teaching and Graduate Assistants greatly. In fact, their work is inextricably linked with the University’s research and academic endeavours, without which a number of the University’s strategic goals would be compromised. Lakehead University wishes to thank and acknowledge the cooperation of the CUPE and Lakehead University bargaining teams for working to ensure a positive outcome.
